Frequently Asked Questions

Whole prey is the true way to naturally nourish your animal, and at WildPet, we utilise the entire animal, which is why we proudly call it REAL PREY. Unlike many competitors who must source additional proteins to create a whole prey mix, we stay authentic by providing a complete and balanced diet straight from the source.

Absolutely. Feeding obligate carnivores like the ferret, their ancestral diet, is not only optimal for their physical health but helps enrich their lives, contributing to good mental health also.
The only exception to this rule is when poor health or genetic disease renders a sick animal incapable of digesting a natural diet. This occurs for example when chronic liver disease prevents a carnivore from consuming nutrient-rich organs, that would otherwise be an amazing nutrient-packed morsel.

We try to keep our products as affordable as possible, with many people being surprised at the overall affordability of our pet food.
There are two factors to consider when looking at the cost of pet food:
The cost to purchase, that is the dollar per kilo
The cost of health, both physical and mental
Quality nutrition is very important. Likewise, is the avoidance of preservatives, flavor enhancers, binders & fillers typically associated with commercial diets is also important. Diet texture is often overlooked, we believe great consideration should be given to it, with regards to maintaining optimum oral hygiene and providing environmental enrichment that a biscuit simply can’t provide.

Once thawed, it should be used within 2 to 4 days.

There is a very low risk of your dog getting worms from a raw diet. It is more likely that your dog will contract worms from feces (such as bird or kangaroo droppings) or by swallowing dirt or grass that may harbor worm eggs. To mitigate this risk, Wildpet freezes all products, and we recommend regular worming for your pet.

Our products are free from any artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives, ensuring the highest quality and natural integrity.

We’re happy to let you know that our products are free from any fillers!

The short answer is no. Feeding your dog a raw diet absolutely will not transform them into a bloodthirsty predator. In fact, many dogs thrive on a raw diet and can live harmoniously with other pets without any issues.

The instinct to chase and kill other animals is inherent in some dogs and not in others. A raw diet will not influence this natural instinct in either direction.

This product can be re-frozen if it has been thawed in the fridge. However, if it has been thawed at room temperature, we strongly advise against refreezing it.
